Situated in Knox County's rolling hills, Apple Valley Golf Club has an idyllic, undulating terrain covered with lush forests. The club is proud of the fact that the course's designers, William Newcomb and John Robinson, were successful in seamlessly blending the course with the natural surroundings and preserving the beauty of the landscape. Long hitters will like this lengthy layout but there are challenges that will appeal to a variety of skill levels. The golf course features a number of holes that require a tricky tee shot through narrow tunnels of trees. There are several ponds located throughout that come into play on half of the holes. Many of the greens are also well protected by sand bunkers. Due to its popularity and versatility, Apple Valley Golf Club hosted a number of championships since opening in 1972, making a name for itself as a competition course.
