Pickaway Country Club
About
Pickaway Country Club is known for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Jack Kidwell, a local architect who designed this course and many others in Central Ohio, utilized his familiarity with the terrain but still kept each golf course distinct. Pickaway has an interesting layout that will test your shot-making abilities and strategy with narrow fairways lined with trees and small, fast greens that are difficult to read. Water hazards come into play on five holes and there are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is one particularly difficult par-5 hole that requires a 250-yard drive over a meandering creek. Although the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges, they are balanced by a number of wide-open fairways that have ample space.

Great day!
Shot birdies and pars, had a blast challenging enough to be hard but not to difficult to make it not fun. The people we’re friendly on the course and the staff was great
Bad Shape
This course has dropped off tremendously within the last year and a half. Tee boxes were not mowed and not level, bunkers are totally unplayable, the fairway is cut just as high as the rough on most holes. Keeping in mind I’m writing this review in early April but I’ve played other courses in the area that are in much better overall condition. Such a fun layout, and a nice bar area; but I wouldn’t play here again at full price..
Rushing players to play
We had our tee time and was right on time . The group in front of us was halfway through hole 2 when we teed off 1. They had two twosomes behind us . The Ranger comes up to us on hole 8 and says we need to pickup the pace . I said we are on the green on 8 and by the time we finish 9 it’ll be a 2 hour pace correct . He said yes but the group ahead of you is a hole and a half ahead . I said they started off a hole and a half ahead of us . He said well you’re backing up the twosomes behind you . This completely ticked me off and through me off my game for 3 holes . We was at a great pace and to be rushed when at the average pace is ridiculous. Wont return for that reason . It was not our fault you mismanaged and put two twosomes behind us instead of pairing them . Ruined the experience for all of us . Also overpriced for a country course to be honest . Played Cumberland Trail for 10 bucks more 2 days before and it’s 100 times the course .
Way overbooked
12:30 tee time. The 11:45 group was still waiting to tee off. Not a single golf cart left to use. We were told to wait until someone gets off of the 18th hole to return their cart. This was the third time I’ve been here and I’ve yet to play the whole course due to either overbooking or ridiculously slow pace of play
Ok course
Was an ok course.. nothing to write home about..for 30$ it was worth it.. but I have played better in that area...
Fall golf
Course was what we expected for October 30th; aerated greens, patchy fairways and tees, but only $20 for a Sunday morning round of 18. Fun little course, not too difficult but some challenging driving holes and a long par-3 to keep it interesting. Shot my average but probably lost some strokes on the sandy and aerated greens so maybe a little easier than other courses around the area.
Enjoyable!
This is a nice little course. The course is in good condition. Not a long course but well laid out. Super friendly staff. Will definitely play again when the leaves are not on the ground.
Always Pleasant Staff
I have only played this course a handful of times, but every time the staff, from pro shop, to cafe, to rangers have always treated me like a VIP. It really makes for a great day, especially on a better than average public course.
