Originally opened in the 1920s, Sunbury Golf Course is one of Central Ohio's oldest courses. It is also one of the area's best values. The nine-hole layout sprawls across a rolling landscape covered with mature trees. Although the golf course had a rough start during its early years, it was rebuilt in 1987. With the help of 150 new pine and crabapple tree plantings and some new sand traps, the course was transformed into the entertaining layout that exists today. In addition to the bunkers, the occasional water hazard also comes into play. With small, challenging greens and an emphasis on proper placement off the tees, Sunbury is not your average nine-hole golf course. It is a versatile layout that will appeal to more advanced players but it is still player friendly enough for beginners.
