Turnberry Golf Course
About
Situated in a lush valley bordering Blacklick Creek, Turnberry Golf Course is tucked away amidst mature forests and high fescue grasses. The course is one of seven municipal courses in the Columbus area. It has an unexpected location, which has added to its allure of being one of central Ohio's better-kept secrets. Arthur Hills designed the links-style, championship layout. At just over 6,700 yards from the back tees, this lengthy golf course tumbles across varying elevations. A cart would be best on this course. The front nine is more wooded but there is more water coming into play on the back nine. Strategically placed bunkers pose a formidable challenge throughout Turnberry, as do the fescue-lined fairways. On each hole, golfers face a tricky second shot to a small, elevated green.

Early in the season, so not quite "up to par", but...
March in OH is not typically conducive to playing golf. So, the course wasn't in particularly good shape and was pretty wet. However, having played Turnberry a few other times, the conditions are more the exception than the norm. I enjoy the track... it's pretty flat and easy to walk. And, they have nice driving & putting areas, so you can get in a few swings before your round. I would recommend and will be back to play again.
Best public course in Fairfield Co!
I love this course! I like to play there through the week as I get off work early in the day. They have specials all the time. A great halfway house conveniently located at the first/10th hole and best yet, the course sits low but drains excellence. It's the last to burn up in the area I can promise you that. Truly a hidden gem in central Ohio.
Who would have thought it?
Who would think a city of columbus course could be this good? The fairways and greens are well kept and the greens roll true. They do an excellent job in keeping the greens is shape with the amount of play they get.
The greens challenge your reading skills. There are subtle moves that turn a par into a bogey. My group played there and everyone wants to go back.
Really nice course
Nice staff. They squeeze me in with two other golfers. Nice course. Played back on 5/5/19 also after everyone had all the rain and they said cart path only but they could've let carts do 90 degrees. Seems to drain pretty good. They seem to keep it in good shape. Played while in Columbus for the weekend
Not bad after all that RAIN...
Other course had been flooded and I happened to find Turnberry to play. Staff and starter were very accommodating and willing to do what they could to make my experience a positive one. The course was a bit under water but playable. Cart path only. The course itself was a good challenge. Many trees but not in the way of play. It is a nice course tucked away. I would recommend this course to others who are in the area or visiting.
Course was in very good shape. Couple of quirky holes but overall good layout. Not much trouble and very few bunkers (none in the fairways). Normally would say it’s not worth the $45 but it was Memorial Day.
Great course with Great greens but get out early
Course was in great condition greens were amazing true and quick but get out there early seems like they get a ton of traffic ... Fairways and rough nice as well
Great value
Greens are some of the best on a public track in Central Ohio. Pace of play little over 3 hours.
Nice Course
Nice layout and nice condition for the money. We played on a Holiday Weekend and the pace of play was good. The rough is tuff so keep it in the fairway.
Great conditions! Course is in great shape! First time, fun course, good layout. Will be back for sure
Excellent condition
Course is challenging and the greens were in great shape.
Great Value - Hidden Gem
I had heard Turnberry was a great course, and I finally got out to see for myself. Other than it being pretty wet from a lot of rain the day before, the course was in excellent condition. Greens were fast, fairways were plush, and the rough was tough. The staff was friendly, and although I didn't need it, there's a nice halfway house that seemed to attract a lot of people. It's a pretty layout with some great holes. There is an odd one on the back...17 I think...but otherwise it's a good layout. I played poorly, but it wasn't due to the course. Maybe if I hit more than 24% of the fairways I would have done better!
Good conditions
The course was very well kept. Short yardage’s but I played the whites instead of the blues. So just adjust back and it is fun
Very nice course
Very nice course. Excellent conditions. Nice friendly staff
Early morning round. Had a lot of fun.
Was the first person off in the morning, and was sent out as a single. Played very fast since no one was in front of me. Grounds crew was still working throughout my round, but were courteous when we crossed paths.
