Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018.

Oakhurst Country Club was designed by Ohio native Jack Kidwell, who took great care to preserve the beautiful natural terrain while still providing a premier championship course. Kidwell deftly utilized the rolling landscape covered with mature trees to create one of central Ohio's most challenging private golf courses. The layout features narrow fairways and small, sloped greens that demand both accuracy and careful strategy. There is also an abundance of water throughout the course that adds to both its challenging nature and scenic quality. The design has an interesting variety of holes with several holes that long hitters will enjoy and others that will test your short game skills. Although it offers a formidable test, Oakhurst Country Club is still approachable to all skill levels thanks to four sets of tees.

Excellent course in Grove City

This is an excellent course to play at. Thanks to the club for giving golf now members or the public an opportunity to play there. I played the front 9 by myself then at the turn I joined a group. The greens were fast and challenging. The fairways were wide enough and the traps were full of sand. The staff members were great. Bob was very friendly he even carried my bag to the golf cart. I didn't get to use the range but I guess it's free when you pay for your round. I will definitely play again now that I know the course layout.
Overall I would recommend this course.

nice course but...

It was my first time playing this course and we had fun but my only complaint was that there was no type of graphic or whatever you want to call it showing the hole and any types of hazards you had to contend with. Not on the card or the marker in the tee box. I guess you need to make sure you play with someone who knows the course.

Great Course

We had a great time playing this course. We really enjoyed not having houses all along most of the course. Very well maintained, Par 3's were challenging. Will definitely play again.

Well Maintained

I like this course. It is a private club and they open up the driving range to you before and/or after your round. I ended up pairing up with a couple of the owners. They were nice. The course is always well maintained. Traps are always full of sand, the rough is distinct but not so much that you cant control your shot, I don't know if I have ever seen a bare spot in the fairways, and the greens rolled true. If there is a downside, the course layout is lacking at times. Some holes have great texture but there are some that are plain.

Just ok

The course was in good shape, though the greens were a bit too firm, especially considering the wind, which made the downhill holes virtually impossible to keep balls on the green.
While I'd play here again for the right price, the issue is the course just isn't that memorable. We started on the back and while the holes are different, none of them really stand out.

Great course for the money!!

This is a very established course, challenging holes, and open easy ones. Great layout, and nice easy Southwest location, if you live in Grove City, or surrounding. Overall, I really enjoy playing here. Staff if helpful, and welcoming. It was a crowded day, and number one was backed up, so they let us go off on 10 and work around the crowd.

Course was extremely wet due to rain in the 2 days prior to playing. Will play again in dry conditions.

A Good course played on a bad day

A beautiful course. Played it in about the worst condition it could be. It had rained for 3 days (about 4 inches worth) and the course was soaked. Cart path only and the back nine was closed (played the front twice). This had nothing to do with course management. The course was still great. The greens are moderately fast, somewhat small, and have lots of break. Distance is good. Good variety of hazards to negotiate. Traps were a problem, but that could have been the rain. Clubhouse was attractive and members were friendly. Will return.

Hidden gem near the city

The course has a very mature landscape and plays well even for amateurs. Several holes are remember able which says a lot for the realitivly flat terrain of Columbus. I got a smoking deal on on Golfnow and the staff was friendly enough to let me go before my tee time since they have an opening. I will definately come back for more

OAKHURST REVIEW - 15 YEARS LATER

IT HAS BEEN OVER 15 YEARS SINCE I PLAYED OAKHURST. THE TREE LINED FAIRWAYS REQUIRE ACCURACY DOWN THE FAIRWAY, OE ELSE YOU HAVE A TREE OR LIMBS BLOCKIMNG THE SECOND SHOT. GREENS ROLLED TRUE AND WERE IN GOOD SHAPE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. DEFINITELY GOING BACK SEVERAL TIMES THIS YEAR.

Good day Good course

Have played a few courses this year and so far Oakhurst was in the best shape. Greens were really nice considering time of year. No one would help us in the bar/restaurant, but then again we weren't members. We ended up just walking back out and finishing the round. All in all I enjoyed the day and for $26 with a cart i don't have much to complain about. Nice course if you get a chance to play I would take it. Membership, doubt it.

Good Condition

This is a small Country Club that allows limited Golf Now patrons. The course is in very good condition with smooth greens and consistent roll. Fairways are also well maintained. I'd play here again.

A Great Deal

I used to be a member at Oakhurst a couple of years ago and when I saw the great price, I had to book a tee time. Be advised since Oakhurst is really a private club, time availability is going to probably be limited to early morning weekdays.

We got there a little early, hit a few balls and they let us go when we finished, probably about 20 minutes before our scheduled time. We were only a twosome but did very little waiting and finished in less that 3 1/2 hours (teed off about 8:30)

The course was in great shape. greens were excellent and the fairways were cropped short and had good grass almost everywhere. They are replacing the bunkers on the 15th hole.

I saw comments in earlier reviews that the bunkers could use some sand but I avoided them so I cannot comment.

Overall a great deal on a good round of golf. I highly recommend

people in the club house were great

This course is a right course with little greens. The greens are maintained and have some tough puts if u don't place the ball in the right spot. Only one hole with water but plenty of trees to get you in trouble. I would definitely golf this course if you get the chance.

OK course

The course layout was boring and the pace of play was very slow. The greens provided a challenge, very fast and rolled true.

short course, nice greens, could be kept up a little bit nicer

Played by myself in 2.5 hours, Nice course, sand in bunkers isn't very good, greens were rolling nice, overall not a bad track, but in my opinion a notch below some of the other public/semi-private courses in central ohio
