Raymond Memorial Golf Course
About
Raymond Memorial Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, is a rare find, which includes twin par-3 holes. Each par-3 hole is actually two parallel holes, complete with tees, fairways and greens. The idea behind this feature was to allow play to move at a more reasonable pace by allowing the faster players to advance ahead of the slower foursomes.
From the blue tees, this course plays to 6,864 yards, with a rating of 72.8 and a slope of 121. The large and contoured greens are raised and sloped from back to front. Sand bunkers protect the front side of all 18 holes.

Good gem in Columbus
In Columbus visiting family from Alabama. Looked across the Golfnow App and internet for a course to play that didn’t have bad reviews. This course was great for the cost. Nice staff. Great snack bar at the turn. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Only negative from my standpoint is the driving range is irons only. Really enjoyed playing this course. If you’re not sure where to play - you can’t go wrong here
I’ll be back!!!
Great layout. Course was in good condition. Other than the old guy is running me over with their cards. Had a great time
Very Slow Play
Great course! I have played there multiple times. Today was the worse. The pace of play was extremely slow. 5 1/2 hours is way too.long to play a round of golf. Also did not see one ranger driving around so everyone could keep a good pace. I hope later this year that this all changes. Because the course has a great layout.
Okay but nothing special.
Layout was pretty straight and flat for most of the course. Few holes pleasantly surprised us but mostly forgettable course. Not sure if this is a city course but it reminds me of one.
Nice Ohio golf course
For a Columbus public parks golf course, it is very nice.
Nice par 5s (#11) and challenging par 3s from the tips. Friendly staff.
Only negative is that the driving range is only 180yds long so you can’t warm up your driver or long irons. And there is no chipping green.
I’d definitely play this course again.
close by and just fine
It was the first Beautiful day in quite a while, so everyone was out. Paired up with high school girls who wanted to practice Slowly, so moved up to play with 2 friendly single men. Even so, we were on top of a pile up of golfers. OK, except that a staff member came and told US to move faster. ?????
Good value great food.
Raymond often moves too slow. Course has open layout and big greens. A lot of character to the course. Greens tend to be pretty slow.
Has the best halfway house in central Ohio with awesome Schmidt’s sausages and German food.
A good city parks course, with horrible pace of play
This is a vey enjoyable course, run by the city of Columbus Parks . Course built by RT Jones, Sr. All greens are elevated, so you must fly the ball to the green. Greens were very slow, and fairways not tightly mown.
Pace of play was a joke, nearly 5 hours on a Saturday late afternoon. All holes are close to each other, a round here would take less than 4 hours. A marshall was on the course, to no avail. Our foresome waited every shot on a TWOSOME of new golfers. A whole hole gap was in front of them.
This is a good 4 star course, play it if you have the time.
