The Ridge Golf & Gardens
About
The rolling countryside occupied by The Ridge Golf & Gardens (formerly known as Buck Ridge Golf Course) provides an ideal landscape for a round of golf. The nearby farmhouses add to the course's rustic appeal. The layout closely follows the natural contours of the land and trees, ponds, and landscaping were tactfully added to blend seamlessly with the natural terrain. There are a total of five ponds, which come into play on eight holes. A number of bunkers are strategically placed around the large greens and there are also rough areas to watch out for. Although the golf course is relatively young, the skillful use of the mature trees makes it seem as though it has been around much longer. The eighth hole, the layout's longest par 3, is one of the toughest. It plays directly over water to the right side of the green. Before playing The Ridge Golf & Gardens, golfers can warm up on the large practice green.

Wow!
Great staff. The course has really come along way under the new ownership and staff. I was really impressed.
Great condition after heavy rain
Just played here for the first time. Course was in very good condition despite heavy rain the previous day. Cart rules were 90 but fairways and rough was mowed so finding your ball outside the fairway was easy. Several challenging doglegs and layup holes require some thought beyond your typical 'grip and rip' course. Large greens that accept long approach shots make this course high handicap friendly.
Great practice course with some fun challenges!
Great practice course with some fun challenges! Staff are terrific and always welcoming.
Hidden Gem
Yesterday was the first time I played this course. Very well maintained. When we drove up to the course I was a little worried. There certainly is no grand entrance. However, from that point on I was impressed. The club house is small but clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly. The obvious focus was on the course though. Difficult enough to challenge but not a course that is going to beat me up unnecessarily. Fairways and greens were in very good condition. Trash cans were empty and water in the ball washers. The only thing I noticed is that the sand traps were very hard. Very enjoyable evening. I will be going back.
The course has a lot of well laid out holes and challenging greens.
Country friendly folks in a pleasant country atmosphere.
Glad I found this gem
Played today 6/3/13. With the golfnow deal, this coarse was a great value for the quality .Only thing i seen wrong was the bunkers, but hey, who has good bunkers anymore.Tee boxes ,fairways, approaches and greens were all in great shape.I liked how there were holes that were easy enough to maintain pars, and birdies. Along with some challenging holes where you had to drive straight and place some shots.Very fun course. Will definitely be back when it a little warmer, was a tad chili today.
very hilly awesome water and sand traps everywhere
Super fun and challenge for all golfers ... the greens are excellent and fairways are one of the best I have played all year
Great value for the price.
I always enjoy getting to play Buckridge, the greens are always in pristine condition and the course is always in ready to play shape. The course is not overly tough but there are a few risk reward holes. So, if you have never played here I would definitely put this course your to play list.
Truly enjoy playing the course and the staff is outstanding.
The course is in great shape. The greens are clean and well maintained. so are the fairways. The staff is very friendly. Having someone on the course with beverages and snacks would be helpful and only area for improvement.
review buck ridge
staff said one mower was broken down rough was high would try one more time some interesting holes
Enjoy Playing this Course
This course offers many challenging holes, with water and sand at the most inconvenient places. If you are a beginner bring your scuba gear. Overall I enjoy this course and love bringing my friends out to play here.
The price was great.
The price was great, but the greens has a lot of ball marks on them, so I was doing a lot of maintenance before my puts. The ruff needs to be manicured a little, bc of crab grass and dandelions, but other than that I would say its a decent course.
course was in great shape.
The course was pretty well maintained and was a great course andanan experience golfer. Many holes had minor challenges to face.
You get what you pay for...
For 17 bucks, it's hard to complain. The course is not in great shape - especially the bunkers. It also has several holes that should be blown up. They seemed like after thoughts because the designer ran out of land to put a decent hole on the course.
Nice Greens, fairways need a little attention
The greens have sufficient undulation to make them challenging and are in good condition. The fairways were a little patchy and probably just need to mature and fill in. The course is flat and is relatively open. The course has several dramatic dog legs, which adds some twist to a relatively easy course. I would rate this course 2.5 stars, but the price is excellent for the course.
Great piece of Land
Although Buck Ridge is a 25 minute drive my home I enjoy the aspect of getting outside the city I experience there. It is a Great piece of land for a golf course. Staff is Friendly and rates are very good in this day and age. My favorite holes would be 5, 6, 11, 17, and 18. Check it out.
pleasantly surprised at condition of course- a whole lot better then 2011
did not play this year because was in poor condition last year- pleasantly surprised how well it looked in november. tee boxes were good , green good, a lot better shape then 2011
Scenic country course with several challenging holes
I like the course. Greens are nice. While a golfer should not be in the rough it's a bit more difficult when the rough consists of lots of CLUMPS of grass hiding the ball. Rough could use some grooming.
good course in bad shape
Played here a few times this year. Was always nice, now fairways are very patchy and a lot of spots are dead. Greens were still ok. They had sprayed something with green dye in it all over greens and tee boxes. I got it on a hot deal so I paid less than $1 per hole to ride, would not pay normal rates with current condition.
