The Links at Echo Springs
About
Located in Licking County, The Links at Echo Springs sits at the third highest point in the state. The golf course winds through mature hardwood forests and sits adjacent to a winery. At least half of the holes were carefully carved from the dense forests. The course spills across gently undulating terrain, providing a links-style touch to the layout. The rolling, tree-lined fairways are narrow and the large greens are lightning fast. There are also a few double-tiered greens to watch out for. The course's challenges come mostly from the numerous bunkers that are treacherously lurking throughout. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. The layout has a fair amount of challenges but it is still gentle enough for beginners to enjoy as well.

Pretty course and very enjoyable
We paired up with another twosome and the pace of play was pretty good, about 4 1/2 hours. The greens very pretty bumpy although the pro shop said they had been cut and rolled recently. Overall a fair test and fun to play and a good value, definitely worth the trip.
Excellent Course
The course was well maintained and was in great shape considering the harsh winter we had. I will play this course again when the weather gets nicer. The scenery is awesome and I cant wait to see the course was the trees blossom and the grass is bright.
For the price it's worth getting out of the city and being away from everyone.
It was a little swampy from the rain a couple of days before but overall it was a good day.
Links at Echo Springs
Course was fun to play even though it was still cart path only. And the winds got up to thirty to forty miles an hour, which definitely affected club selection.
In great shape given time of year.
Played in early November 2013. The course was in fantastic shape given the amount of rain and the fallen leaves. Many of the holes are straightforward, but there are a number of fun challenges on the course. It's about 2 hours from home, but I'll definitely be back!
I will be playing this course again.
Rain was on the horizon but I knew I could get at least the first 9 before getting my rain suit on. Rain started on the back 9, and so did my swing; I did better in the rain on the back 9.
The course surprised me. I had seen it on the listings, but did not hear of it from those I golfed with before. It was a little bit of a drive, but well work it. I liked the layout and the challenge was moderate.
I was the second group of the day at daybreak. The staff was extremely friendly and seemed glad to have me there.
I am glad I went and will be back next spring.
Not a course to play int he fall.
All greens were covered with helicopter seeds and a little beat up. Fairways were decent. The young man in the clubhouse was less than friendly.
Great Value!!
We played this course for the first time yesterday. Course is in great condition. The greens were really rough. It looks to be because they just aerated them. Hope to play again when the greens are in better condition.
A decent golf course, with all rain earlier this season will need some work.
Golf carts had not been cleaned from previous use. Found grass, dirt on cart floor and used scorecard. Course played a little slow from rain earlier in day and slight drizzle during the round. This is a good public golf course.
Back 9
Only played the back nine getting ready for the off season will be back next year to play all 18.
Worth the Drive
I've played Echo Springs 5 or so times this year. Am always impressed with the elevation changes and layout of the course. You don't have to be super accurate or make perfect shots, but it is a demanding course. Overall a great track for players of all levels. Greens were a little beat up but this has not been an issue in the past. Perhaps the heavy rains the night before were hard on them.
Lay out is challenging and is a sort of combination of old fashion and links style.
Course was maintained ok except tee boxes that need a lot of work to including leveling. Broad leaves and crab grass were covered, almost all of tee box. Need a work.
Once was very nice.
The Links at Ecco Springs used to be one of my favorite tracks to sneak away and play. I'm not sure if it is under new ownership but the staff was not friendly and the course was in terrible shape. It took us over five and a half hours to complete our round. The food at the turn used to be very delightful but not this time. My buddy had a sandwich and it only had one slice of turkey with stale bread. Overal this was a very disappointing experience certainly considering what this place once was.
This is a great course.
I loved golfing at The Links at Echo Springs. The course was challenging but not impossible for a beginning golfer. This is probably the nicest course I've played. I definitely will be going back and I am seriously considering a membership, but will be walking as their cart fees for members are a little steep ($14 for 18 holes).
i enjoyed the course, I'd played it 8 years ago.
The course was in good condition considering the amount of rain we'd had recently. It is a good layout and was enjoyable. I'd go back again.
With a bit of work, this one could be great!!
The course is set on a beautiful piece of property and the layout is fair, with no real surprises; Most everything is there to see, so no "Boy, I wish I'd played that shot differently" moments.
The greens were soft and rolled true.
Cons:
- The fairways are really sparse; More like winter conditions than mid-summer. Not sure why, but if you play winter rules, you'll enjoy the fairways.
- The bunkers are just basically gone. They have gotten a lot of rain, but it seems they have given up on them. When we hit in the bunkers, we raked them in the area near where we hit, and then they played just like you'd expect them to play.
Don't avoid this course just because of the cons; It still is a fun track to play!
the course is a good track but the bunkers need attention
thank you I enjoy the course good track however the bunkers were unplayable
Good Value
The GolfNow price made this round a steal for my son and I. Course was in very good condition, except the bunkers were all washed out. Good mix of links type holes also.
Nice course, worth the drive from Dublin, would recommend.
Nice course, pretty country setting. Good greens. Good layout, about half the holes through the woods, a few very linksy, no close parallel holes. Fairways well maintained, rough not too bad. Traps not in very good condition, need some maintenance and new sand. Very hot day we played, no water jugs on the course or cart service. Will definitely play there again. Lots of tees for different skill levels.
Dear Golfer,
First off I would like to apologize on behalf of the course and our employees for you not being able to enjoy your time and money spent here at The Links at Echo Springs.
We have had some serious issues with the online booking system as we have been in process of upgrading the software. For three days the system had been booking multiple groups within the same tee times, thus why pace of play was affected on the day you were here. Our normal pace of play is 4h10m-4h20m. We have since fixed the issue and have been within 10 minutes of average pace of play for the last week.
The Course Condition has been improving to the best of our ability. The first 3 weeks of July brought us over 18 inches of rain which we are still seeing the lasting effects. We have addressed the remaining issues with extra chemical and extra man hours, but despite our best efforts a few issues are still lingering. We expect to regain our place among Licking County's top courses very soon.
The lunch meals on the turn are delivered to us by two local companies. They deliver them twice a week so that we can insure their freshness. We would be happy to refund any meal that is purchased from our course that is deemed unsatisfactory.
I would like to get some further information from you if that is possible. I would like to gather any remaining concerns that you might have and also see if there is anything we can do to help bring you back out to our course. Feel free to get in contact with us at: thelinksatechosprings@gmail.com
Thanks again for coming to our golf course, taking the time to share your opinions, and hopefully we will get to see you again in the near future.
