Virtues Golf Club
About
Virtues Golf Club (formerly known as Longaberger Golf Club) in Nashport is Ohio's no. 1 public golf course and it's also ranked in the top 75 public golf courses in America. Situated about an hour's drive from Columbus, the Arthur Hills design tumbles across rolling hills, stretching from the ridge top down to the valley floor. Wide, undulating fairways flow seamlessly to immaculately manicured greens bordered by beautiful mature trees. The setting will make you feel as though you've been transported to southern Appalachia. You'll be greeted with stunning panoramic views everywhere you turn. Be careful though because the dramatic slopes make the golf course just as challenging as it is scenic. Multiple sets of tees keep Virtues G.C. playable for golfers of all skill levels but no matter which you choose to play from, a bevy of uneven lies await you.

Tremendous Course
My first trip to Longaberger and it did not disappoint. One of the top public golf courses I've ever played and the best public course I've played in Ohio.
Our pace of play was horrible and worse was the group in front of us had music blaring entire time, it was ridiculous.
Only hole I didn't like was the first. The tree in the middle of fairway is obtrusive in my opinion.
Greens were a little beat up and in the natural fescue areas some weeds/bushes/trees have grown up to where it blocks the views of some landing areas.
Now to the good points. I thought the golf course was tough, but very fair. You hit it good you can score. To be perfectly honest I would rather play Longaberger than Muirfield Village.
The 15th is as good a par 4 as I've played in quite a while. Just a beautiful golf hole.
The serene setting makes you feel like you are some place in Southern Appalachia. Tremendous use of elevation change. The contouring in the fairways is top-notch. Great variety of holes. Big golf course, each hole sits by itself.
All in all, a tremendous place to play golf. Definitely can't wait to get back out in the fall when the colors change.
Outstanding Course and Club House
Despite the rain, and cart path only, this course is fantastic. Since it was the first time playing, I made several mistakes on course management. It played long for this senior golfer but I enjoyed the course. I will definitely play this course again, hopefully in dryer weather.
Longaberger
Course in pretty good shape overall, only exception is all the divots in the fairway that could use some attention.
Some very challanging greens espcially if it's your first time on the course.
One of the Best Public Courses in Ohio
This golf course is fantastic. It is easily one of the best in Ohio. The layout is beautiful and it is easily one of Arthur Hills' finest works. The layout utilizes the natural hills of the area and provides gorgeous views of the surrounding terrain. The course has a lot of dramatic but not obnoxious elevation changes that accentuate the beauty of the area. All of the holes are unique and memorable. The condition of the course is also great. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all lush and well manicured. The bunkers were all well raked and soft. The greens were especially great. They were well maintained, fast, and subtle, with many nuanced breaks that take a magnifying glass to see. I could go on and on about how much I loved this course. However, it's not for the faint of heart. It's very difficult because of the elevation changes and the strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. However, the course is very fair and is enjoyable no matter how well you play. If I had to complain about something, I would say that the lack of an easily accessible concession stand near the pro shop is a negative and that the food didn't blow my socks off. However, I'm being hypercritical. This course is absolutely fantastic and worth the drive from anywhere in Ohio.
Scenic Course
Wife and I have heard great comments about this course, so we decided to make the 145 mile drive. Let me just say we weren't dissapponinted and you won't be either. Many great views as the course winds up and down through the Ohio countryside.
somewhat baffled
Great layout. Greens were totally marked up from someone wearing something other than golf shoes. made putting almost impossible. greens were all scuffed up around cups. Was really hoping I had found a course closer to home but the greens scuffed up really turned me off. Not sure if we will be back. Paid good money and was somewhat disappointed. I believe we got behind slow group who scuffed greens up..Just bad timing/
Panoramic excellence
Exceptional views and layout. Some greens were a little pock marked due to golfers not tidying up divots but overall, the course lived up to its superb reputation.
Great Course
I always enjoy this course but this day was even better as the weather was perfect. During the front nine no one in front or behind us. The course is in great condition and I would recommend it to everyone.
Great layout
Great course. It's tough but fair. Course was in great shape.
A course to play
This course has everything you want. It is absolutely immaculate. I have played a lot of horses but this by far beach anything I've ever seen. Starting from whole number one all the way to whole number 18 the course conditions are absolutely perfect. The staff is the one of the most friendliest I've ever been around. Definitely worth the money and also worth the drive. GPS navigation was not the best so I recommend getting Google maps. Google maps goddess there with no hinges. Once again I cannot rave enough good words about this course and I have moved it up to my all-time favorite. Not including Maui, Hawaii
Great course
Fantastic views from all t-boxes looking over great fairways and fast large and true pure rolling greens. Clubhouse with balcony overlooks stadium style 18th. Fun to have a drink and watch approach shots come in. Great place!.
Beautiful day, beautiful course
A buddy and I played the morning of July 17, and we practically had the course to ourselves. Except for a couple guys on the range, we never saw any other golfers. And, the course is in excellent condition. The greens are rolling pretty fast. Apparently, they are getting ready for some amateur national tournament. It's in great shape.
this course has mixture of challenging and par making holes with a little conservative playing skill.
Always wondering how they maintained a such tip top shape from rough ,sand trap, fairway and greens. Condition was excellent and showed well organized effort to keep it as top rated course. Only problem is too far for me to drive to enjoy 65iles---
A Must Play in Ohio
Played Longaberger for the first time in 7-8 years and I won't wait that long to go back. Every hole is a signature hole. Course was in great condition. Only complaints, had a hot dog at the tun and it was inedible! Also, there was no water on the course except at the bathrooms. The beverage cart came about every four holes, but on a really hot day there needs to be more water around the course.
Beautiful course
The course is beautiful, quiet, serene. The greens are quick and tricky. Lots of un-repaired ball marks on greens often made for uneven roll. Otherwise the course is delightful.
Heaven
This place is like a piece of Heaven. I'd play here any chance I get.
Really.. What more can I say...
This was my 2nd time playing this course. The first time I played it I spent most of my time amazed by the setup of the course and the views. I was more impressed by my surroundings than to worry about the golf. This time.. I was going to focus on my golf and see what I could do.
Well let's just say the course is beautiful! The fairways, greens, and bunkers were in really good shape. My buddy and I had an early tee time so we were free to roam the course at our own pace. The clubhouse attendant and cart girls were all friendly and very attentive.
As for the golf... I shot the same score that I had shot the week before on The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. That being said.. it was a tough day on both courses. Two great courses.. In its own way Longaberger holds its own compared to the courses on Kiawah Island. Now if they could only bring the ocean coast here. . It would be perfect!
Definitely a must play! One hint.. keep the ball in the fairways or you are in for a long day. Better to play from a shorter set of tees then look for lost balls all day.
Nice place, but overrated at #1 in the state
Once again this was a really nice place, but unfortunately its not worth the high price they warrant to play. The people that rate courses must solely base their opinions on amenities, and a country club feel, and not the actual course itself. Don't get me wrong the staff was tremendous, the course was well manicured but not what I expected being rated #1 in the state. I've played at least 3 better courses in Ohio easy..I left Longenberger after my round feeling like I could have saved the extra money and played somewhere else..no WOW factor
Longaberger is a great course
The course was in great shape. My only complaint would be how they email coupons and the confusion it causes. It was much easier to go to GolfNow and book the tee time and save $15 from the lowest confusing coupon that Longaberger sent out. Pace was slow but very enjoyable.
This course makes want to come back
This is a course you will want to play again. It's challenging enough and is laid out beautifully. The views from high elevation are as majestic as is the course view from the 19th hole clubhouse or outdoor patio.
Improvements I was told have already been made as the new ownership recently took over and plans are underway for a name change.
My tip on naming... Anything better than the old name's difficulty getting Siri to understand ...
"Siri get me directions to Longaberger golf course."
Kidding aside - this is a wonderful course I'd recommend playing by any other name!
