Virtues Golf Club
About
Virtues Golf Club (formerly known as Longaberger Golf Club) in Nashport is Ohio's no. 1 public golf course and it's also ranked in the top 75 public golf courses in America. Situated about an hour's drive from Columbus, the Arthur Hills design tumbles across rolling hills, stretching from the ridge top down to the valley floor. Wide, undulating fairways flow seamlessly to immaculately manicured greens bordered by beautiful mature trees. The setting will make you feel as though you've been transported to southern Appalachia. You'll be greeted with stunning panoramic views everywhere you turn. Be careful though because the dramatic slopes make the golf course just as challenging as it is scenic. Multiple sets of tees keep Virtues G.C. playable for golfers of all skill levels but no matter which you choose to play from, a bevy of uneven lies await you.

BEAUTIFUL LAYOUT
Course was in excellent shape, people beed to fix divots though! Other than peoples ignorance and laziness of not fixing their divits it was in great shape!!!
Tough Day at Longaberger
The golf course was in great shape. The greens were tough. I can't wait to play it again.
Beautiful scenery and relaxing
First time I had gone to this course. The location is very scenic and beautiful. We were basically playing by ourselves, so there was hardly any noise other than the birds and wind. The fairways were rather torn up with divot marks, but this may be expected since we were later in the day. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to get away from the city and play out in the wilderness.
Best in Ohio
in my opinion, the best, most scenic course in Ohio. I love the fact that when you are playing a hole, all you see is that hole, they have over 800 acres. Staff is fantastic, course is always great shape. If I only had one course to play on this would be it.
Very nice!!
Twilight is $69 on weekend (after 2). Played 18 for $46 thru golfnow. For that money, absolutley worth it. Nicest public course in state.
Phenomenal golf
Longaberger is ranked #55 in the Golf Magazine's Top 100 that you can play. I've played 30 of the Top 100 and I can say, without a doubt, that it's the best value of any course that I've played. It's a great design, with the course meandering over a beautiful countryside. Most times it seems that you are the only people on the course. No homes to be seen, no holes going out and coming back at you, just pristine golf in a challenging yet fair golf course. There is so little downside here. A staff that needs a refresher course in service, too many golfers that don't understand the concept of fixing a divot or a ball mark, but that's a challenge for any resort course. For overall value you are playing a $180+ caliber course for much less. I have to say that most holes are as beautiful looking back from the green as they are from the tee box. We visit every year and am already looking forward to next year. Just a marvelous course!
A Mid Ohio Gem
Longaberger is a wonderful course, both in layout and natural beauty. You play a round in absolute silence except for birds and wind in the trees. No homes seen nor barking dogs heard. A rarity in central Ohio these days. Its an hour drive from Columbus and as long as the new owner keeps green fees moderate it's worth the drive.
Beautiful course
My husband and I play all over the world, and although this won't be in our "Top 10" because it isn't a view of the ocean or other natural wonder, for $50 this was a great course and was in great shape.
Very nice course, conditions not as good as previously.
I have traveled to this course several times from Indiana with some friends as it was one of my favorite courses and always in immaculate condition. This time, with club under new ownership, we found that the course was not in as good condition as previously but fees were higher. Staff was less than friendly. No more senior rates available, and replay rate was $50! $130 for 2 rounds of golf at this course is too high, this is not in New York or California! Would also like to see some water stations around the course especially on hot days like the day we played. Only options for water was the beverage cart and 2 water fountains at the course restroom areas. Sadly, we will probably not be making the trip to Nashport again anytime soon, too many other nice venues in the midwest for considerably less $$.
Still the best public course in Ohio
After the long winter, this was my first round of the season.. The course was, as always, in amazing shape. To me, its the small things that add up. Manicured and level tee boxes, raked sand traps, greens that roll true and consistent all the way around the course. Loved this course from the first time I played it. Amazing views on every hole because its the only hole you'll see.. Always a challenge and always fun.
would definitely recommend!
Staff was very friendly and food was much better than any other course I've been to. Was early in the season so course wasn't busy at all. There were no other golfers
great layout
greens were in good shape they probably aerated a month or two ago fairways were plush huge fairways layout is terrific hands DOWN BEST driving range PERIOD better than Amy private club you'll ever play I broke 80 from the 6800 yard tees very fair course
Beautiful Course, Conditions Did Not Meet Expectations
Longaberger is a beautiful, challenging course. The layout is great with a great mixture of holes. I made the only double bogie of the day on the shortest par 4 on the course. If you haven't played the course, it is worth the trip. I was disappointed in the condition. The bunkers were not in good condition, but it did rain hard the day before...so I can give them a pass for that. The greens were slow and bumpy. They had been aerated maybe 7-10 days ago. The course was car paths only, which slowed down everyone. We finished in 5:15.
One of Ohio's best publics
It's a bit of a hike from Colombus, but certainly worth the drive to play Longaberger, which has the benefit of hundreds of acres at its disposal. It's probably my favorite Arthur Hills design (up there with Bay Harbor) thanks to its great hole variety. The amenities are world class here, including a huge clubhouse and driving range. Definitely make a day of it here.
Great course, bad staff, poor pace
Course is in great condition. But bad staff management, not too friendly. Pace of play is horrible. Waited on every shot as soon as we teed off. No ranger to be seen. Also 3 kids were driving on a cart, just goofing around while we ate hitting our tee shots. I really don't know what this course has becoming. Needless to say, longaberger is not the public jewel golf course of Ohio anymore. Done.
Basket full of goodies
This course was a treat to play. Yes, the pace of play was dreadful and the greens need to be aerated but the place was in fabulous shape, had interesting holes and great views.
Lives up to the hype
I had read about this course and it was on my list of things to do this Summer. Totally worth it! Amazing layout, great conditions and not too overpriced (some really great courses get carried away regarding price).
The only thing I would do differently is get there about an hour earlier to take advantage of the wonderful practice range and get good and warmed up as the first hole is a pretty hard start.
This course has great features
I wants to play again this course if there is a chance.
Nice Course..but very slow play
For such a nice course its ashame the pace of play is so slow. We played on a Thursday Afternoon and it took over 5 hours to play. Apparently that is the norm at Longaberger according to the course workers. We couldn't have asked for nicer course conditions and the layout is one of my favorites to play, but the pace of play ruined the entire round. At one point, 4 groups were on the 4th tee, I talked with the ranger, he told me he knew what was causing the hold up, but couldn't do anything about it.. (must have been his regular buddies playing slow).. He also told us if it stormed not to use the shelter near the 12th hole, because they had a bee issue there.. You would think that could be solved with some bee spray.. Overall a nice course, but I won't go back unless I have the 1st tee time of the day because its not worth my while to play a long round. If you like to play slow, you'll fit right in at Longaberger.
Lives up to the hype!!
Finally got out to Longaberger, and boy am I glad I did. Beautiful course. Very scenic with some real interesting hole layouts. Conditions were about perfect. Worth the pricey rates to get out there especially if you've never played it before.
