Saint Albans Golf Club
About
Saint Albans Golf Club in Ohio is a public course that provides a casual atmosphere and a relaxing round. It is popular for its affordable rates and excellent conditions. The layout is fair and not overly challenging. It was designed to be player-friendly course with no hidden hazards. The design does take advantage of the landscape's rolling countryside and numerous ponds though. There are five water hazards that come into play on nine holes. Slight undulations make the greens and fairways interesting and there are also many strategically positioned trees coming into play throughout. The golf course's signature hole is the par-4 10th. It is one of the trickier holes, requiring a shot to a large green that is protected by a meandering creek and a tall cottonwood tree.

Just not for me..
Thinking 11am on a Wednesday you could blow through a round but not so much. It was outing like conditions, players on every hole, waiting to hit every shot it just ruins the round. We quit after 9 as when we made the turn there were 4 foursomes stacked up, like I said not for me...Great staff but not enough of them to have a ranger unfortunately..With the length and difficulty even the biggest hacker should come in under four hours we were on pace for 5 plus.
Early year round
Had a great hot deal on golfnow for this early year round at St. Albans. The course was in very very nice shape and had very few wet areas. Fun course to play with many different challenges. Short par 3s, long par 4s, etc. Heard they have new ownership and as stated before the course was in excellent condition.
Very nice course
course was in very good condition for December, green very good shape, staff very friendly.
Great fall course
I normally play this course in August during a scramble, and I must say the course was great for being November. Obviously you had to battle the falling leaves to find your golf ball however overall it is a great course. The greens were surprisingly fast!
Good shape for October
The course was in pretty good shape for October. The pace of play was pretty slow, especially for a Tuesday, but it was still a great deal with the GolfNow Hot Buy. Would recommend anyone play at least once.
Course in Great Shape
I found the course today to be in very great condition, the greens rolled well and fairly fast. The tees and fairways were well maintained as well.
Great Course
My wife and I have played St. Alban's on a regular basis, based on the price, condition and ability to get around fairly quickly. Yesterday was no exception We played in under 3 hours, had nobody in front of or behind us. The course was in it's usual excellent condition, as the owners make sure the course is maintained. Great experience, as usual!
Great value
Fun course to play. Enough difficult holes to be a challenge but it doesn't punish you for good shots like some courses. Greens are moderately fast. I like the variety of holes and changes in elevation. Course can be walked but you better be in shape.
Great course!
Nice course. Nicely manicured facility. Friendly and helpful staff. Only thing that could use some work are the cart paths.
Always a fun course
Course was very busy, however the pace of play was pretty good. Conditions were hot and dry, greens fast and mostly in good shape with the exception of a lot of unrepaired ball marks. Tees were rock hard and difficult to get a tee into. Snack bar attendant was pleasant and prices were OK. Check in lady is not the most pleasant, maybe just towards GolfNow patrons. Usually play at least a round or two here every year.
Won't be heading back out
While I knew what to expect given conversations with others in the area, this course was in much rougher conditions that I anticipated. Tee boxes full of weeds, greens burned out in spots, tough to discern where fairway ended and rough started. Probably won't be heading back out here anytime soon.
Decent course
Greens were fast and true, little bare on one or two holes. Tee boxes and fairways in a good shape. Rough is little too long for me, had trouble finding my ball couple times.
Nice rural course
Nice rural course and GREAT for beginners. The front 9 is very open and flat; the back 9 is MUCH more visually appealing and challenging. I'm a 6 hdcp and bought a late Hot Deal on GolfNow.com for $12. Played as a single on a Sun PM in < 2.5hrs. The course was dry and hard so it played much shorter than the yardage indicated. Greens were fast and baked. The course has very few bunkers or water but the back 9 hills & trees make you think about your shot. The par 3's are very strong. Bottom line...this is not in my Top 20 list of Central OH courses to play but it was a great last minute value. IF you are in the area, other nearby options that I normally prefer = Denison GC (formerly Granville GC), Links at Echo Springs, Clover Valley, or New Albany Links.
ill be back
Good hometown feeling course, well maintained, enjoyed how the back and front 9 have a diffrent feel. I'd like to play it again in the future.
Golfer0013
Nice course. Threesome 3 ahead of us had no clue backed up four teams
a bit disappointing
maybe my expectations were too high. Fairways were in ok shape. Greens weren't bad though. Overall expected more given the history of the course.
Greens are nice and fast
Very nice place to play , course is always in great and the greens run true
another Central Ohio gem of a course
Very nice course; nice tees, nice fairways, nice greens ... heck, even the rough was nice. Lots of trees, and yet they didn't get in the way that much.
Can't wait to play it again.
Good Value
Played for $22 including the cart. The weather was great, the course was in decent condition and the course wasn't packed. I have always liked playing St. Albans.
