Saint Albans Golf Club
About
Saint Albans Golf Club in Ohio is a public course that provides a casual atmosphere and a relaxing round. It is popular for its affordable rates and excellent conditions. The layout is fair and not overly challenging. It was designed to be player-friendly course with no hidden hazards. The design does take advantage of the landscape's rolling countryside and numerous ponds though. There are five water hazards that come into play on nine holes. Slight undulations make the greens and fairways interesting and there are also many strategically positioned trees coming into play throughout. The golf course's signature hole is the par-4 10th. It is one of the trickier holes, requiring a shot to a large green that is protected by a meandering creek and a tall cottonwood tree.

Nice course but very slow
Condition of course was great. But very slow play during the week. Waited 10-15 minutes at every tee box. Nowhere to go with group hitting into us from behind.
Pretty Good
A couple of the greens were not in very good shape but overall it was pretty good.
St. Albans
The course is beautiful. Rolling hills, beautiful mature trees, fairways were in very good condition. Now the bad news. The putting greens were in bad shape. Very inconsistant some part of the green had grass but some didnt, i would say 60-40 grass. But because of that the speed of each green was diffrent. Most of them were super fast, billard table fast. And i have no problem with fast greens but only if its the same through the whole green and hole to hole. I have played 30+ times this year and can count the 3 putts i've had on one hand. There, i had 4. My average putts per round is 26. There, i had 36. I had one eagle putt from 20 ft. And was LUCKY to snuggle it up 3 feet for a kick in birdie. Everyone had a bad day but other than putting i played as i always do.
Todd 9 handicap.
Great course for your buck!
St. Albans is a somewhat challenging course and I had a lot of fun playing it. The front nine was a little backed up, so pace of play was slow. But once we hit the back nine, we basically had the course to ourselves! It was awesome! Food and drinks priced very well and great hot dogs for a golf course! Great course as well! I will definitely be playing there again!
Good value!
Friendly staff and a golf course the I will return to.
Very Nice Employees
Course in great shape Employees fantastic very friendly people playing course also
This course is poorly maintained
The cart path is aweful. The ball cleaners were dry, when there actually was one on a hole. There is no yardages ( to water, to bunkers) on scorecard .
The layout of the course was good and the course was fun to play when I could actually figure out what clubs to hit as to avoid hazards
Nice little course
Fine course fairly easy . 5$ minimum on credit. Even if you use credit to pay for your round. So stop and get cash at an ATM before heading out.
this course was well maintained
has water on a few holes but don't come into play. has a few challenging holes # 10 all down hill and across a small creek. #11 works well for anyone that has a slice. # 18 all up hill so have to go up a few clubs .greens played fast and a few were a little tricky .rough was @2 to 3 inches but wasn't that bad to get out of. all said and done it is a course everyone should play.
Great course, for a great price!
This was my first time playing the course and I had a great time! The course is kept up very well and there are some challenging holes so that is a plus!
Excellent value and enjoyable.
St Albans is typically in good condition at any time of the year. It makes for an enjoyable round of golf. Greens are true and relatively fast. I would recommend the course to anyone.
Good
They run the place in an organized manner which includes calling the groups to the tee over a speaker system. The lady behind the counter was very nice to me, and she was also taking are of all the organizing - by herself.
The pace was a little slow - expected for mid-morning Memorial Day.
The course was in good shape, except the rough was higher than expected.
Overall it was a very good experience.
Slow and disappointed
The woman behind the desk was very unfriendly and seemed very annoyed that she was there. The other staff were nice.
Because of the very slow play I left after only 9 holes. Made a long drive to only be frustrated.
Old and grumpy
Before I start I've played St.Albans a few times with very few problems and overall a good value for the course. When I booked my tee time on golf now there was a 3:30,3:45, and 4:00 tee time available I booked at 3:30. When arriving to the course as I walked into the club house the old guy behind the counter shouts "who are you" like I didn't belong or something. I proceeded to tell him my name for the tee time and he made some smart remark about booking on golf now, and then getting loud and saying the league is waiting for you guys to go off. I was 10 minutes early to my tee time and still being rushed. As I approached the first tee about 15 hackers surrounded the tee box like we were holding them back or something. Needless to say you don't yell at someone like that the second they walk into a club house when I am opening my wallet to keep you in business. There are plenty of courses in columbus area that would gladly take my money. Customer service on a golf course is huge for me, this course fails at this.
Great bang for your buck
St. Albans is pretty straight forward. Not many doglegs but challenging nonetheless. Greens are in good shape and tee boxes weren't tore up. Had fun. Great round.
First time impressions
The course was in a good shape. However it was wet and soggy from all the rains. A few of the greens had standing water. The stated yardage seems to be considerable off compared to GPS readings.
Would like to play the course again under better weather conditions.
2014 review
Always on my top three list for this area. Have played many times hrer and will keep coming back.
Very nice place
Great course, could play easy or hard depending on wind! Overall, easy to find, about 20 minutes East of Columbus!
Always a positive experience
St Albans may not be the most glamorous or challenging course around, but the course is always in the best possible condition they can make it. Fairways are very good for this time of year, the traps are tended to, tee boxes in good shape, etc. The staff is always pleasant and smiling.
This course tries very hard to make your experience a positive one. It's a no excuses kind of place, while other courses are blaming the winter, St Albans just gets it done.
Great Course and Value
Lots of fun. It was quite wet the day we went, but the course was in decent shape. Pace was very good, and the course offers a challenge for average golfers.
