Good course
I'm a new golfer and I love this course, it doesn't break the bank and provides a fairly difficult time for me...great to play and practice
Rough needs mowed.
Definately an improvement over last yr when the traps were a mess. Rough need to be cut down. This isn't the u.s open.
meh
Not a bad course, but if you're an above average golfer, it's not for you. Greens were SLOW...probably the slowest I've played in a long time. Pace of play was also very slow, including the back nine where 4 women held up the whole course. Might go back, but way better options in the area.
Challenging
We were rained out on hole 8 . course was fun.
going back today June 20. to replay.
liked the course a lot.
Midday escape
Spur of the moment decision to play was right one. Perfect day for golf. Course if forgiving, the rough was not so thick you could not find your ball and make a good recovery. Some water but if you stay close to fairway it's not an issue. Pace of play was under 4 hours for 18. I bailed after nine since it was my first time out this year.
Bad conditions
This course has upkeep issues and dangerous play conditions. The tight fairways run right next to each other. The cart path has potholes and the fairways large holes. Not a good course for the money.
Shamrock
enjoyed it very much it was in good condition that's all I need to say
Shamrock 5-30-14
Shamrock is great value. Perfect course for the beginning to novice player. It isn't going to host a PGA event, but it for the money, is good value.
The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in good shape.
frustrating
This was the most frustrating course! If you weren't standing right over your ball or running it over in your cart, you weren't finding it. I don't know how many times I went right to where I hit my ball and it was no where to be found. The rough was so long and thick, we last ball after ball I won't be going back until they fix the problem!
do not use good balls here!
this course needs help. the cart paths were choppy. the rough was way too long. lost 10 balls all in the rough. walked right by 2 and my buddy found them when he walked the other direction. some of the fairways were very soggy and it hadn't had rained in a while. I really wanted to leave after 4 holes. but played all in hopes it would get better. most of the bunkers were unplayable.
Great price to play 18
Found a great deal on golf now and played 18 in 4 hours!! Great deal
too many holes teeing off/hitting into other players
Course does not drain well, so it is cart path only frequently, and that ruined some fairways that stay saturated.
Pace of play was good for Friday after 4pm, even though they allow for many singles to tee off?
Only paid $18.50, so it was a good value.
Did not partake in the dining/bar area
If it weren't for the parallel fairway and drainage/cart path only issues,, the course is enjoyable
Great course wonderful value
The course was an excellent shape pace of play was awesome enjoyed myself recommend to anyone
Good value, decent course
Course was in decent shape, considering it was cart path only because of heavy rains the night before. Fairways and greens were good. Rough tall. This is not a super challenging course, but one that is a fair test and is fun to play and a good place to hone your game. Great value for the money.
Shamwow
Very easy course, could be taken care of a little better. The greens are like putting on Velcro. With the cheap greens fees it is worth playing.
Excellent Value
Course was in pretty good condition and I was paired up with a couple of great guys.
excellent value for the money
Shamrock golf course might play a little shorter than most, however, it was in excellent condition and was less than $30 on a Sunday. The pace of play was never a problem and the staff was very friendly.I would say for the area this was the best value for my money this last weekend.
Nice staff, course had some debris
I know it's early in the season, but there were a lot of sticks on the course. Other than that, very nice staff, pretty decent place for the money. I will play again.
Good course to start the year on
Played Shamrock for the first time and the conditions of the course were better than what I expected. The pace of play was slow as a lot of golfers out during the twilight time of day. Some of the holes are very tight and had a few times where we were on the wrong hole and players were on our hole. Overall good time.
Ridiculously Slow
As usual, Shamrock took forever. We didn't even get to finish all 18 holes. We had to quit after 14 because we had already been on the course for well over 4 hours and we had other things to do. They continue to not allow groups to tee off the back 9 to alleviate the back-up on the front. Then they send out one ranger who was only concerned with not letting people drive their carts into the rough instead of addressing the real issue. Tell people to go to their own ball and be ready to hit when it is their turn. There is no point to having a ranger if he isn't going to speed up play. When you see people hitting 3 or 4 tee shots on every hole and then each guy walking to one another's ball, then tell them to speed up. It is always the same at Shamrock. Also, don't bother getting there early. You will tee off on or after your tee time. Even if there is an opening, they will not let you go ahead the way most other courses will. I would stay away from this course and spend my money elsewhere.
