Just Glsd to Play
After a long winter we were just glad to get out and play. Got a great deal from GolfNow and although the conditions were extremely wet it was nice to finally get out and hit the ball.
Pretty muddy but it had just rained
Beautiful grass and very fun. Challenging but in a good way and just minutes from the zoo!
Shamrock Early Spring
First round of the year at Shamrock and given the emense amount of rain and snow from the last two months, the course was in good shape. Early spring, so not too many golfers out. Cheap tee time on golf now.com. Always a fun course, with plenty of fairway room and good hole placements.
Great value course!
Its not extremely difficult, its rare to be slowed by pace of play, and its cheap. Prices on golf now, top 2 or 3 value in columbus area.
Nice golf course close to communities
The golf course is in good condition. Greeen is a bit slow which is ok in fall. I enjoyed it.
I said I would not go back, but because of the value I tried again. Will not return to the course.
It was a great price, but the greens had just been aerated and the sand was still on top of the greens. It was very difficult to putt. I don't think it should take two people almost four hours to play 18 holes, especially on a day where very few people were playing. The play was slow because of the walkers in front of us who would not let us play through; we waited on every hole on the front. Play was better on the back nine. Play is always slow on this course.
Wide open, no rough to speak of. Traps were in terrible shape, looks like they've given up on them for the season. But hard to beat the price.
We'd have gotten in 18 holes in under 3 hours except we got behind a SLOW foursome that wouldn't let us play through. Waited on every shot, finally went around them by skipping two par 3 holes. Overall the course was OK, golfnow.com had a great rate for us so we took advantage of it to get out one last time before the end of season.
Needs serious repair
I cut this place some slack earlier in the year, assuming they would work toward maintaining the course but it's clear that they're not making any effort. The tees, greens and bunkers are in very serious need of repair, most every bunker on the course is completely unplayable. It's still a quick value round with a GolfNow discount but anything over $15 would be way too much for the state of the course.
Too expensive and not well maintained
Unless you get a great deal, this course isn't worth playing. Needs some serious attention and care. The only thing is has going for it is the location.
enjoyed the challenge
Liked the openess of the fairways, variety , and closeness to my home
Close but in rough shape
I like Shamrock because it's close to my house. But the course is in pretty bad shape. Lots of dead ash trees and all the bunkers are a mess. Greens stil rolled pretty good though.
Don't go!
Their are to many better courses out their to chose from. The land woud be beter off being a new housing development. Many of the sand trap were all dirt. Tee boxes were all crab grass alonge with most fairways. For tje same price you could play blacklick or Cumberland trails.
decent course
Played the best 18 of my life however the course is just in average condition. Fairways not in the best condition. Not overly difficult
Great course for the money
Bunkers and some greens need some care but overall the best course in Columbus for the money.
Over crowded
Tee time was for 12:52 and they were at least 20 minutes behind had to wait on every hole too many golfers on the course to have a smooth flow was my first and last round at Shamrock. Fairways too close together shots flying on to different holes all over the course greens real patchy and fairways hard as a rock some greens soft some hard.
driver
the course was in pretty good shape for as much play as it gets. Iwasnts to thrilled with the pace of play this part, day we started out as athreesome and let a single join on the the back nine which backed us way up.
Worse course I've ever played
Drainage of course was terrible. Numerous areas of standing water and all traps were so water filled that you lost balls in the trap.
Course layout is so tight that you are constantly worrying about being hit by balls coming from other holes.
Good value
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Course was in good shape and they were actively working to improve sand trap conditions.
